iTouch (Xyplex) 20 port server
NEW warranty! New in box, iTouch/Xyplex 20 port terminal server with
Software and full one year warranty.
This unit is the latest
model, new in box 20 port console server with a full iTouch/Xyplex one year
warranty. This model is the IR-8020-101. This unit is for AC power. The 8020
comes with a 4 MB Flash card with the current rev of software. This item
replaces the famous MX-1620-114.
The In-Reach 8000 series of standalone
remote console management and terminal server solutions controls a variety of
local and remote network elements (NEs) in a cost-effective, secure, reliable
and easy-to-use manner.
The IR-8000 enables corporate network
administrators and operations support systems (OSS) managers to gain out-of-band
serial port access to a variety of NEs such as UNIX servers, switches, CSU/DSUs,
routers and multiplexers.
Using IR-8000 products, network administrators
can configure, troubleshoot and manage geographically dispersed NEs from a
central network operations center (NOC), thereby reducing costly on-site visits,
service disruptions and skilled personnel requirements. OSS managers of ISPs and
broadband service providers can centrally manage and provision services
dynamically across multiple data centers.
OPERATION
The console
management (serial) ports of the IR-8000 connect to the console or craft ports
of NEs. This serial connection enables the administrators to perform
configuration of the NEs as well as software upgrades and/or any routine
management operations via the command line interface (CLI), as if attached
locally.
The IR-8000 supports script-based automated provisioning of NEs
enabling scheduled, unmanned and efficient installation of thousands of network
elements.
Through its 10BaseT Ethernet port, the IR-8000 can be
connected to a separate network through which the administrator can gain
out-of-band access to mission-critical NEs in the in-band network.
In
case of a blackout or a network failure, the optional secure modem integrated in
the IR-8000 ensures reliable "back-door" out-of-band access to the NEs.
HIGH PORT DENSITY
The IR-8000 series comprises an array of
desktop, 1U rackmount, and 2U enhanced rackmount form factor standalone models
with a wide range of console port densities ranging from 4 to 40 ports.
In addition, the IR-8000 standalone models offer a wide spectrum of
features such as AC/DC power options, modems, flash card, WAN port and
NEBS-compliant combinations.
The variety of In-Reach standalone models
is further supplemented with 6-slot and 15-slot chassis-based products, offering
the highest port densities available in the industry. The chassis-based models
offer a maximum port density of 280 or 336 ports, depending on the type of
interface selected.
VIRTUAL MANAGEMENT PORTS
The IR-8000's
console management software offers 9 virtual ports that can be used to establish
multiple Telnet or Secure Shell sessions. This feature allows multiple
management users to perform system administration of troubleshooting operations
simultaneously.
SNMP COMPATIBLE
The SNMP-compatible IR-8000
operates efficiently in heterogeneous network environments and can be managed by
any industry-standard, SNMP-compliant network management system (NMS).
Further, the IR-8000 can be configured to send SNMP traps to the NMS in
response to alarm events and thereby alert the administrator to perform any
time-sensitive remedial operations.
SCALABLE SOFTWARE
Feature-rich In-Reach console management software offers extensive
scalability by using the same operating system image across all standalone and
chassis form-factor models. Furthermore, the In-Reach software offers an
intuitive CLI and HTML interface for installation, configuration, maintenance
and troubleshooting.
The In-Reach software also includes a variety of
command and data logging features that offer network administrators the ability
to track previously entered commands and events from a system log file. With
this feature, security breaches and last change events are much easier to
isolate.
SUN BREAK SOLUTION
The combination of an innovative
circuit design and console management ports prevents a break signal from being
generated when the IR-8000 is powered off either intentionally or unexpectedly.
Such break signals halt the normal operation of the Sun servers and workstations
and potentially disrupt network operations.
The IR-8000 can offer a
combination of hardware, software and firmware solutions to the break signal
problem, guaranteeing significant cost savings through reduced personnel visits
and undisrupted Sun device operation. These solutions offer significant benefits
if the attached Sun device is a mission-critical Web server or a database
server.
SECURITY
To add to your peace of mind, the IR-8000
offers a variety of built-in security features such as per-port and multi-level
password protection, access control lists (ACL), IP filtering, SecurID, RADIUS,
dial-back and PPP (PAP, CHAP). In addition, support for the industry-standard
Secure Shell (Ver 1.5) serves as a highly secure alternative to non-secure
Telnet access and prevents unauthorized intrusion during out-of-band access.
This package of robust security features comes standard with the In-Reach
console management software and is unmatched in the industry.
OUT-OF-BAND MANAGEMENT
Wherever you are, you can be in reach of
your network using the extensive out-of-band management features of the IR-8000.
The IR-8000 allows you to perform installation, configuration, management, and
troubleshooting of your network elements (NEs). The IR-8000 connected to your
out-of-band management network can be accessed through a variety of standard
interfaces, including 10Base-T Ethernet (RJ-45), PPP-compatible integrated (or
external) V.90 modem or synchronous WAN. These interfaces allow network
administrators to gain out-of-band access to their NEs quickly and reliably via
TCP/IP Telnet, Secure Shell, and PPP dial-up.
